Hawk Group preys new Komatsu deal
14/04/2008

Hawk Group has been purchasing construction equipment from Marubeni-Komatsu for over 25 years. Signifying the ongoing investment and their strengthening relationship with the UK distributor, they have now placed an order for £8m of new machinery.

The line up includes 8 x D61EX-15 and D65EX-15 bulldozers, 1 x PC88MR-6 roadliner, 10 x PC130-7 excavators, 5 x PC228US-3 zero tail-swing excavators, 1 x PC290-8, 8 x PC350-8 and 10 x PC450-8 excavators.

A number of these machines have commenced work on a new contract, which involves the regeneration of the former MG Rover site at Longbridge in Birmingham for developer St Mowden and joint landowner Advantage West Midlands. Work on the 17-acre Longbridge West site started last month with Hawk Group having a number of machines clearing and demolishing to ensure the site is fully remediated to allow for future development activity.

Mike Hawkins, Chairman of the Hawk Group stated:

“We have had a fantastic working relationship with Marubeni-Komatsu for over 25 years. We have full confidence in the Komatsu product range, it is of the highest quality, and enables us to ensure we are offering our customers the best possible equipment.”
