Improving productivity and economy for 19-tonne wheel loaders 01/02/2007
Komatsu has enhanced its extensive medium-to-large wheel-loader range with a new 19-tonne machine. The WA430-6 sets new standards in productivity, fuel economy and comfort. It is ideal for the sand and gravel industry, waste handling and composting, wood and material handling, earthmoving, road construction and construction recycling.
At the heart of the WA430-6 is a new 175 kW / 235 HP engine delivering high torque even at low revs. It is part of Komatsu’s ECOT3 range of engines specially designed to deliver extremely low emissions and fuel consumption – simultaneously satisfying environmental regulations and customer requirements. It features an electronically controlled high-pressure common rail injection system, the latest piston design technology and advanced air management for a cleaner, smoke-free exhaust.
The newly designed drive train delivers maximum efficiency and an unrivalled initial rimpull-to-weight ratio for easier material penetration. It also gives the WA430-6 plenty of acceleration and a speed on inclines, enabling outstanding productivity and value in load-and-carry operations.
Machine performance is further enhanced by a load-sensing hydraulic system that provides the exact flow required with no flow loss, improving both working speed and breakout force. The hydraulic system combines perfectly with a new adaptive gas pedal to significantly improve operability.
The WA430-6 is easy to maintain and provides full engine diagnostics for effortless troubleshooting. An automatic central greasing system is installed as standard, dramatically reducing maintenance costs.
In addition, the new wheel loader is also very easy and comfortable to operate. It is fitted with Komatsu’s renowned SpaceCab™, which offers a spacious interior with air conditioning, adjustable steering column, state-of-the-art ergonomic controls and an air-cushioned, heated seat. The SpaceCab’s sound proofing means noise levels at the operator’s ear are just 71 dB(A). An Electronically Controlled Suspension System (ECSS) is also fitted as standard, improving travelling comfort and safety while reducing material spillage and extending the machine’s lifetime.
